If you’re like me, replacing broken objects or fixing things with sticky tape and super glue is part of your daily routine. So when I heard about a new material that could repair everything, I had to find out more.
Sugru is a self setting rubber that can fix or adapt anything from shoes to dishwashers. It came onto the market in 2009. The idea came from a final year college project developed by company Jane Ni Dhulchaointigh. I spoke to her and co-founder Roger Ashby to get their story and insight into protecting their IP through a patent.
