For the last few months I have been poring over and collating the IPOs data and am pleased to announce that the result of that work is Facts and figures: 2013 and 2014.
Matt joined the Intellectual Property Office (IPO) in 2009 as a Patent Examiner and recently changed roles to become a statistician for the Economics, Research and Evidence Team.
His academic background is in Structural Engineering and while working as a Patent examiner he specialised in drilling and heavy mechanical applications. His love of numbers, data and facts led to an interest in economics, which he is now able to pursue daily, for money.
Facts and figures is the IPO’s annual publication which details office activity by numbers.
September saw the Intellectual Property Office (IPO) host a conference on patent use alongside Brunel University at the Big Innovation Centre in London.
